TL;DR: ScoreBook stores all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information from anyone — including children under 13. The app has no advertising, no analytics, no accounts, and no network requests to any server.
Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
ScoreBook is designed for users of all ages, including children under 13. We comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the US and similar regulations globally. This means:
- No collection of personal information from any user, regardless of age.
- No persistent identifiers are used or stored (no device IDs, advertising IDs, or tracking tokens).
- No account creation or login required.
- All data stays on the device and never leaves it.
- No advertising or in-app purchases.
Information We Collect
ScoreBook does not collect any personal information. Specifically, the app does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any contact information
- Location data (GPS or otherwise)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Browsing history or search queries
- Biometric data
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
Data That Stays on Your Device
All data you enter into ScoreBook is stored exclusively on your device using a local database (SQLite). This includes:
- Tournament names and settings
- Player names (entered locally and never transmitted)
- Match scores and standings
This data never leaves your device. No server requests are made. No data is uploaded to any cloud service, analytics platform, or third party.
How We Use Local Data
The data stored locally on your device is used solely to:
- Display tournament information and standings within the app
- Generate and share standings images (via your device's native share sheet — you control where it goes)
- Autocomplete player names you've used before (a convenience feature — names never leave your device)
Sharing Features
ScoreBook includes a "Share Standings" feature that lets you export an image of the leaderboard. When you use this feature:
- The image is generated entirely on your device.
- Sharing uses your device's native share sheet.
- No data is sent to us — you choose where to share it.
Permissions
ScoreBook may request the following permissions:
- Internet access — required by the underlying framework for core app functionality. The app makes no network requests to external servers.
No other permissions (camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, phone, SMS) are requested or used.
Third-Party Services
ScoreBook does not use any third-party:
- Analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Crashlytics)
- Advertising SDKs (no AdMob, no ad networks)
- Social login services
- Crash reporting services
- Data processors or data brokers
The app has no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no external links.
Information for Parents
ScoreBook is safe for children to use without parental supervision. Here is what you need to know:
- No information about your child is collected, stored on any server, or shared with any third party.
- All data (player names, tournament names, scores) stays on your child's device. You can delete it at any time by deleting the tournament within the app or uninstalling the app.
- No communication features — there is no chat, messaging, public profiles, or user-generated content visible to others.
- No persistent identifiers are used, so your child cannot be tracked across apps or websites.
- No advertisements of any kind are shown.
- No in-app purchases — everything is free.
Parental Controls
Because ScoreBook does not collect any information, there is no account data to manage, delete, or review. If you have concerns:
- Any data entered into the app can be deleted by deleting tournaments from the in-app settings.
- Uninstalling the app permanently removes all stored data from the device.
- If you have questions about this privacy policy, contact us at the email below.
Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
ScoreBook does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not collect any personal information from any user — regardless of age — no special consent is required for children's use. The app does not condition a child's participation on disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
If a parent or guardian believes we have inadvertently collected information from their child, they should contact us immediately. We will promptly investigate and delete any such data if found.
Data Retention
All data persists on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. We retain no data server-side because we collect none.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
